About the design
The Upland Jacket draws on traditional sporting and field clothing, particularly the storage and freedom of movement associated with hunting garments. Its relaxed silhouette carries an asymmetrical arrangement of pockets, bringing the compartmentalized construction of those garments into everyday outerwear.
Lower bellows pockets with buttoned flaps provide space for larger items. Unequal chest pockets and a distinctive crescent-shaped pocket across the front add different ways to organize smaller essentials. This varied layout recalls field clothing that separated maps, gloves and other equipment into different compartments.
“Upland” refers to higher inland country associated with game-bird hunting, including grouse, pheasant and partridge. Clothing for those settings needed room to move and practical storage. Here that history is expressed through the jacket’s proportions and pocket arrangement, while the selected seasonal cloth gives this version its own character.
