The first collaboration between Needles and WAKOUWA, the deck sneaker brand produced under the direction of ANATOMICA.

WAKOUWA builds its sneakers on military deck shoes from the late 1960s and mid 1970s. The last was developed towards the stress-free shape of orthopaedic footwear, which is what gives the shoe its fit across a range of foot shapes. The wave-patterned outsole is vulcanised, which keeps the silhouette clean while adding durability. The heel patch is drawn from the motif behind the brand's name. This release covers two WAKOUWA models, the Deck'n Court and the Oxford. The Deck'n Court adds leather and piping to the upper, with an accent at the join with the sole. The Oxford replaces the usual canvas upper with suede. Both look low-tech and wear far more comfortably than that suggests.
